BIOGRAPHY

Valentina Catto is an Italian illustrator. Born in Turin, she studied Art the Università degli Studi di Torino, graduating with a degree in Film Studies. She has lived in New York and London, where she produced artwork for theatre posters, stop-motion animations and concept art.

In 2017 she returned to Turin and currently works as freelance illustrator and in house cover designer for Golem Edizioni. 

In 2020 she has illustrated The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë for the prestigious Folio Society.

She has been shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards (2018), the AOI Poster Prize for Illustration (2019) and the FIDA Awards (2021). 

She has illustrated the italian publication of Sweep by Jonathan Auxier edited by Rizzoli Education in 2022.

In 2023 her illustration Closing Credits was selected for the Autori di Immagini annual presented at the Bologna Children's Book Fair.

Her artwork is inspired by dark fairy tales, poetry and fashion and it's created with a mix of digital collage and digital painting.
